In a little less than a month, I will be able to aim you lovely people at buy links for THE PURIST, my upcoming fantasy novel from NineStar Press.
I’ve seen the final cover version. It rocks. It rocks so damn hard, in fact, that it could comfortably fit into the catalog of any of the Big Five SFF presses where I briefly considered submitting it in the last few years. It has none of the unfortunate ‘tells’ that have doomed many small-press covers from other publishers. It’s perfect not only for this book, but as a lead-in to the rest of the series. The elements on it manage to evoke scenes and emotions from the book. It’s undeniably professional.
IT’S A REAL COVER.
I can’t show it to you yet. Here’s a quick digital sketch by me, inspired by a scene in the book. What scene? You gotta read the book to find out.
I’m waiting on the final text copy. I’m lining up review blogs and places to send hardcopies and ebooks. I was considering a jewelry giveaway, but I’m so swamped with other art projects I don’t have time to make a giveaway necklace. Even though I have the *perfect* beads for one.
Maybe later.
For convention swag, I am now considering a limited run of tiny copies of the cover printed at 300 or 400 dpi and inlaid under glass on bronze necklaces.
